This Box Turtle was headed across the road
I picked it up to take some photo's
the boxed turtle's front door is shut when his head is pulled back
this protects the turtle from predators

If the turtles eyes are red it says they are a male turtle

the front door is hinged so that it closes with the turtle
My little turtle is free to leave
this little turtle has a long live ahead
it is said that they can live over 100 years!
